Major portion of budget package to be used for welfare of female tea workers and their kids

A larger portion of the Rs.1,000 crore fund announced in the Union Budget for the welfare of tea workers will be used for women who work in the tea estates and their children in Assam and West Bengal. Tea Board of India is currently working out the modalities of the welfare scheme, which will be shortly submitted to the Union commerce ministry.

Ministry of Food Processing Industries launches scheme to help small enterprises

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) has decided to support 12,778 units with a budget allocation of Rs.638.92 crore for a period of five years. This will be done under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme.

Assam to begin construction of high schools in tea estates

‘Cargo-carrier’ to Human-carrier; ISRO Performing Tests to Fly Astronauts on its GSLV Rocket

The Indian Space research Organization(ISRO), on Thursday, announced the successful test-fire of its Vikas (Vikram A Sarabhai), Engine or the Core stage L110 Engine of its heaviest operational rocket – the GSLV Mk 3. While this engine and the rocket comprising it have flown several times in the past, the test is part of a series of new evaluations. They are meant to ensure the human-rating of the rocket.

DRDO Successfully Flight-tests Surface to Air Missile Akash-NG

DRDO successfully flight-tested the New Generation Akash Missile (Akash-NG), a surface-to-air Missile from Integrated Test Range (ITR), off the coast of Odisha on July 21, 2021. The flight trial was conducted at around 12:45 PM from a land-based platform with all weapon system elements such as Multifunction Radar, Command, Control & Communication System and launcher participating in deployment configuration.
